Finch began to play softball when she was just five years old. She hails from La Mirada, California. Doug Finch, the father of Jennie was her first pitching trainer. Jennie was the first to use the Finch Windmill when she was 10. She threw 13 no-hitters and six perfect games in high school. In college, she became a University of Arizona All-American first baseman and pitcher. She was named America's most outstanding softball player at the end of 2001 by the Wildcats who won the championship, and again in 2002. Wounded Warriors amputee softball (WWAST) is a group made up of amputees, has a goal to increase awareness and collect funds by playing exhibition games, celebrity softball teams, and other activities that highlight the courage and sacrifices made by our servicemen and women and the way they are able to overcome every obstacle. This team's goal is to show other amputees that these athletes through intensive rehabilitation and training, can perform and express the sports they enjoy. Paul Pierce has teamed up with an elite group of professional athletes, which includes Jennie to combat the childhood obesity epidemic. It is about bringing changes to the way we live, our attitudes and thought. In a world where Physical Education is cut due to funding issues and school lunches have become more unhealthier, nPLAY provides fun programs for schools in order to inspire children to stay active and learn to eat better.
