In college, she became a University of Arizona All-American first baseman and pitcher. She was named America's most outstanding softball player at the end of 2001 by the Wildcats who won the championship, and again in 2002. Wounded Warriors amputee softball (WWAST) is a group made up of amputees, has a goal to increase awareness and collect funds by playing exhibition games, celebrity softball teams, and other activities that highlight the courage and sacrifices made by our servicemen and women and the way they are able to overcome every obstacle. This team's goal is to show other amputees that these athletes through intensive rehabilitation and training, can perform and express the sports they enjoy.
