Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. Since she was nine years old, Collins's capacity to communicate in two languages allowed her to get the job she wanted in Miami as an assistant producer at Univision. As an assistant producer she was given the chance to be a part of national show producers like Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was later hired to the CBS station as a sports journalist. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as an investigative reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she worked as an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for news at 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She was also frequently called upon to be a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she is more responsible. She did pieces on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Apart from that she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. It was the same role for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22 on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Mexico City. She has an elder sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami following the move to Mexico to the US. Her parents divorced soon after and in 1995 her mother got married to a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed a new job. Antonietta was a senior in high school having a clear idea of where she would like her life to be like, visited Mount Union University in order to find out if the school suited her. In the end, she loved the school and the university offered the major she was looking for. Following the completion of her high school education, she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she's a part. They developed a close relationship. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his love of journalism.
